Allagash Avancé

Avancé makes the most of strawberries that we source from local farmers. The beer starts as a Belgian-style quadrupel, a dark amber beer with rich malt notes. We age and sour that beer in an oak foudre for a year, before adding over one pound per gallon of fresh, locally picked strawberries. The result is a ruby-colored beer with robustly tart flavor notes and lightly funky aromas that include strawberry preserves, oak, and molasses.
